One hundred years after the founding of the influential art institution Bauhaus in Weimar (Germany), events are organized around this centenary. With 55 exhibitors, this exhibition of art, design and architecture shows what contemporary artists and designers are doing with the legacy of the Bauhaus. All exhibited objects are for sale.
The Dingemanshuys, now a municipal monument, was built in 1964 to a design by Piet Dingemans (1910-1970) as a private residence and architectural office, of b2 concrete blocks. The functional building volumes and the varied stacking of the bricks form a playful whole.
How architecture feeds the imagination of art. Despite the fundamental functions that architecture must perform, the best examples continue to inspire artists across all genres with their masterful use of space, harmony and proportion.
